I wanted to create an image that evoked a feeling of seeing a rare, classic, valuable, historic airplane emerging into sun light from an old building where it had been stored. The viewer can appreciate the beauty of this magnificent vintage machine as it waits to be flown.

Designed by North American Aviation the T-6 is known by a variety of designations depending on the model and operating air force. The North American Aviation T-6 Texan is an American single-engine advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Force,an United States Navy during World War II. In this image I tried to convey the design element and patriotic role this aircraft had in history.

I photographed the North American T-6 aircraft at the airport. I liked the classic look of this airplane, so I post processed it in Photoshop giving it a hand sketched appearance. I then added an old paper texture to give the image an old vintage look.

The T-6 was officially designated as the "Texan" but also known as "The Pilot Maker" for its crucial role in training fighter pilots during WW II. It's 600 hp, 9 cylinder Pratt & Whitney radial engine, 42 foot wing span, and classic looks make the T-6 a crowd favorite as it loops, rolls and fills the sky with nostalgia and grace. I tried to create an Air Show Poster that captured the excitement of such an event.
