St. Ignatius Hospital in Colfax WA is a 120 year building that is said to be one of the most haunted buildings in the country. Built in 1893 originally with six floors and 25 rooms to treat the sick and dying. In the mid-sixties the hospital fell into disrepair and was turned into an institution for the mentally disabled and mentally ill. By 2003, the facility was officially abandoned and boarded up. Reported paranormal activity inside St. Ignatius began to attract ghost hunters, paranormal researchers and television shows. The hospital was featured in an episode of the television series “Paranormal Lockdown” in 2017. This audio visual presentation is purely aesthetic. The photos of St. Ignatius hospital were all taken using natural light with the exception of one photo taken in the “Religious Room” which was taken using a tripod and a flashlight. I would like the viewer to see the light, shadows, and textures that I saw in this old abandon building, with a touch of the paranormal. As a photo artist, I used some composited photos to add a haunting effect. I hope you enjoy the images of St. Ignatius Hospital.
